Melbourne Day 5 - Moonlit Sanctuary, Caldermeade Farm & Phillip Island...

Having been to Phillip Island to see the fairy penguins a couple of times, we did not want to go there again this round. But since we have been under utilizing the mileage of the car and can't think of where else to go...and most importantly, Lil' Angel hasn't seen the fairy penguins before, we decided that we will go to Phillip Island to see the penguins. It turned out to be a brilliant idea, since we got to stop by at a few interesting spots along the way...

Our first stop was Moonlit Sanctuary. This is the second sanctuary that we have been to in less than a week, but lil' ones will never get tired of kangas and koalas, ya?

The Sanctuary...

The Cockatoo greeting us at the entrance...

See the trees and bushes in the background? The Ranger told us that there will be kangaroos and wallabies amongst the bushes so she took us there to look for them...

Yay! We found them! We were given a packet of food to feed them...

There were so many kangaroos surrounding us...they were all hungry for the food!

Lil' Angel wants to help feed too...

THANKS! BURPPP...!

Lil' Angel trying to look like a kangaroo!

She enjoyed feeding the kangaroos...

Chomp chomp chomp!

Ohhhh...no more food!

Bye Kanga! We are off to see the other animals...

The geese are charging towards us...

Oh you naughty geese...shoo shoo!

No worries Mommy..they are all gone now...

This wombat looks funny...

Come and take a closer look...

It has a fuzzy wuzzy nose!

Ahhhh...the geese again...

I, the Lil' Angel fear no geese!

There! They are all gone once again!

I fear no emu too...

Let's see what other animals we will meet...

Ahhh, birds...

Evil-looking bird...

Huh? They are back again...

The geese!!

Bothersome little creatures...

The emu is wandering about...

A kiss for Mommy!

What a nice and beautiful day to be out in the sanctuary!

Hello birdies!

My head is getting heated up...

Ahhhh...much cooler...

Lil' Angel tip toeing to look at the tortoise...

Hello Cockatoo!

Hello!

Let's be friends!

Woohoo! Lil' Angel wants to be my friend! I must look my best!

Bye animals! We had a fun time seeing you guys!

Next stop - Caldermeade Dairy Farm...to see how the cows are being milked!

In the viewing room looking at the cows being milked...

Out in the farm, the cows are queuing up to be milked...

See the cows over there?

There they are!

All waiting in line patiently for their turn...

A thorn among the roses...

A sea of black and white cows...

Cows rule!

The cows are getting onto the "Merry-Go-Round"...

Colour-coded backsides...

Poor guy attaching the pumps to the cows...he must be praying hard that the cows don't do their business right now...

Lil' Angel playing with some of the exhibits in the viewing room...she thinks this is a steering wheel...

Inspecting the pail...

Now for some shady fun...

Do I look cool?

Off to the cafe for some freshly baked scones and hot chocolate...

Yummy!

The freshly baked scones with blueberry spread...heavenly!

Lil' Angel loved the scones!

A look of satisfaction...

And the sweetest smile after eating the delicious scone!

After our tea, we went to the animal petting area...

Baaa-baaaa Black Sheep...

Mary's Lamb whose fleece was white as snow!

Daddy & Mommy Chickens with their flock...

Freshly laid eggs...

What's that smell?

It's stinky...

Crazy Kanga on the loose...with a squashed up Joey...

A more sane looking Kanga with a Happy Joey...

The cutest Joey ever!

A shy looking Joey...Lil' Angel playing with the exhibits...

Wishing well...

Daddy brushing Lil' Angel against the tree!

I love the art piece!

Chocolate Factory...yumz!

Mooooooo...

Let's go in!

Chocolate moulding machine...

Houses made of chocs...

We finally arrived at Phillip Island...

Lil' Angel is excited to see the fairy penguins!

Wow...so many penguins...

I like this Penguin!

What's the Insey Winsey Spider doing on my head?

A mural of the penguins marching home...we can't take pictures of the live ones so this will do. We had a great time watching them march home from the beach all the way back to their little holes. We saw some penguins doing the hanky panky while walking back...

Daddy said that if we really find a penguin under our car...he will keep it as his pet! Sigh...no such luck...
