Baby Evan Has Arrived!

On 1 June, Mommy was supposed to go for her usual chemo session but when Dr Lim (Oncologist) saw that she was coughing, he suggested to Mommy that he would like to take the Baby out asap as he needed to treat Mommy with stronger drugs. Daddy & Mommy were dumbfounded as Baby is barely 29 weeks into gestation! That's only seven months! We were so not ready for Baby Evan's arrival but we knew that if it has to be done, it has to be done. Sigh...Mommy wasn't responsive to the CHOP and EPOCH chemos because the cancer cells are just too aggressive. So after getting the green light from the Gynaecologist (Dr SL Yu) to take Baby Evan out, Mommy went through a C-Section under GA on 3rd June! It was a very smooth delivery! And Baby Evan also did very well even though he was tiny...thank God! Baby Evan is indeed a miracle baby and a blessing from God! He is one tough Baby! Welcome Baby Evan into our family...we all love you very much!

By the way, we chose the name Evan because it means God is Gracious (indeed!). Evan also means a Young Warrior!

And now we proudly present you with our other Lil' Angel, Baby Evan...

I am tiny at 29 weeks...just a mere 1.23kg but I am strong!

Poor Lil' Baby all hooked up with tubes...

Tiny Incubator which looks big for him even...

Even the NB sized diaper is wayyyy too big...

At 3 days old...Baby Evan's eyes are wide opened!

He is pretty tiny that my hand could almost cover his whole body (and his cute lil' bum bum)...

Check out his scrawny legs...and oh so tiny feet...

The NB sized diapers still up to his armpit...

Hey...what are you looking at?

He can wink on Day 9!

Doesn't he look like a little pussy cat on Day 12? *meow*

Baby Evan got promoted from the incubator to a more normal bassinet on Day 25!

Proud Daddy feeding Baby Evan...

And he could also take milk from the syringe instead of the drip!

Huh?! What are those silly looking stickers doing on my cheeks?

Baby Evan is growing very well...he's all of 27 days today!

Still hooked up though...

Haven't seen me without the stylo mylo beanies ya?

He must be enjoying his milk! Check out his smile!

Sleeping soundly after the milk feed...

At 1 month, Baby Evan has yet again been promoted to a normal bassinet with the other babies who needed less intensive care! And he is not hooked up anymore!

Lil' Angel, Daddy, MaMa, the 2 Gong Gongs, Godma Adeline & Family, Aunty Wendy & Uncle Robin all came to see Baby Evan cos he is ONE MONTH OLD today! Oh, who's missing? Mommy! She couldn't go to the NICU to see Baby Evan cos she wasn't feeling too well...

Visitors could only see Baby Evan through the glass window as only Mommy & Daddy could go into the ward...

Baby Evan is smiling happily cos he has so many visitors on this special day!

I still need to drink my milky...

Thank you Godma Adeline for the nice balloon!

And thank you everyone for visiting...I need to sleep now...zzz....

At 5 weeks (i.e. 34 weeks), Baby Evan is looking more like a normal baby!

First Picture with Daddy!

And at 5 weeks, we could finally carry our Lil' Blessing!

Mommy is Feeding Me!

And Baby Evan has graduated to drinking from the bottle! He is taking about 30ml of milk every 3 to 4 hours...

The nice nurses in Mommy's ward gave this very nice gift set to Baby Evan! Thank you Nurses!

MaMa getting bathing tips from the nurses

Week 6...Baby Evan has hit the 2kg mark so he can go home soon! But Daddy & MaMa have to learn how to bathe him and perform CPR on him first...

Daddy's turn to try bathing Baby Evan! Daddy can do it! *Clap!* Clap!*

All done! Now to put on the clothes...

Hurry Daddy...I'm cooooold!

Almost done!

Look at Daddy hard at work trying to dress Baby...

Yay! Finally I am all swaddled up again!

Time to sleep...*yawwwwwnnnnn....*

Baby Evan finally got discharged on 23rd July after staying in the NICU for SEVEN WEEKS! He was 36 weeks (almost full term) when he got discharged. But poor Mommy had to remain in hospital...*sob*...

Thank you NICU Nurses for taking such good care of Baby Evan, he has grown and progressed so well in the last 7 weeks!
