Empathy...

We met up with Aunty Cynthia & Ashrel Gor Gor for lunch at IMM today. We had the baked rice from Swensens which wasn't nice at all. The rice was dry and the whole dish was just PLAIN & TASTELESS!

After lunch, we brought the kids to the playground...they had fun as usual...

I am the QUEEN of the playground!

Peeking at what Ashrel Gor Gor is doing...

Looking around for more interesting equipment to play with...

Walking through the tunnel.

Although Lil' Angel looks every bit girly and feminine, she is a very tough lil' girl. I really admire her for not crying whenever she hurts herself. All she does is to come to me and POINT to wherever is hurting eg. head, hand, leg etc. and tells me "Pain, Pain". All I need to do is to ask her what happened, give a sympathetic look and blow gently at the little wound.

At the playground today, she actually fell off the merry-go-round...she did not even give a whimper and she picked herself up almost immediately and ran off to mount the other equipment. Next, she was running so fast that she fell...her hand got bruised, but again...she did not cry!

So, you must be wondering what will she cry over then?

When Lil' Angel was much younger (<15 months, she will cry whenever she sees other babies crying). When she was a little older, she cried when she was worried for Mommy (eg. when I was on the BIG PIRATE SHIP ride at the amusement park which she thought was frightening) or when she thinks/knows that Mommy is hurt (she whacked me on the head with her cup once and I was yelping in pain). The tears will start welling up in her eyes, her lips will quiver and she will have this very sad look on her face. I am truly amazed that a baby who is not even TWO yet can show so much empathy!

Of course, Lil' Angel also cries when she doesn't get her way or when she is tired! This is definitely not something that I am proud of!
