Lobster Cruise...

After consuming countless of lobsters during our short stint in Boston, we decided that we MUST go to the SOURCE...to see how the lobsters are caught! We drove to Portland, Maine and went on the Lucky Catch Lobster Cruise...

We were supposed to get on the 12:30pm cruise but we missed it cos we couldn't find a parking lot. So we walked around before going on the next cruise...
I like Portland! It has very interesting shops and specialty stores...

This store sells lots of unique sauces and fruit spreads. We tried and bought the Wild Maine Blueberry spread...the whole jar was filled with whole blueberries...yummy!

At the fish market...

Prices of the catch!

USD1.50 for a BAG of LOBSTER....shells, that is!

Price of the lobsters...cheap!

Oooohhhh....lobster meat! All de-shelled, but so much more expensive!

The fish market is right above the water! The lobsters must be very fresh as they are caught here and delivered to the market immediately!

Time to go back to the Wharf to catch our boat...
We are going on the Lucky Catch Cruise...
There's a seafood restaurant by the harbour...we shall have our lunch there after the cruise...*hungry*...
There's our boat...
Applying sunblock for Lil' Angel...
My Lil' Red Indian Chief!

Yap, Lucky Catch...that's the Boat we are getting on...

The Captain giving us a briefing...
Off we go!

Oh...this is so exciting!
The Captain caught a starfish...
This is a Starfish, Caitlyn...
Lil' Angel gamely picked up the starfish!

We got to help the Captain catch the lobsters too!

Daddy is thinking of becoming a fisherman...I mean Lobsterman for a living...
Looks like Alcatraz, ya?

See the buoy? That's where the lobster cage is...

Freshly caught lobster!

The Captain is measuring the length of the lobster. There's a law that prohibits the fishing of lobsters below a certain size. If it is too small, the lobster must be freed...
These are the lucky ones who get to go back into the water...
We caught crabs as well!
Throwing the cage back into the water...

Ahhhh...don't let the lobster come too close...
I don't want to get pinched!
Daddy helping to put the bait (fish) into the net...

We are not interested in catching crabs...

You are one lucky crab...
Bye, Crab!
Here's another lobster that we caught...
Mommy helping the Captain to measure the length of the lobster...
There are seagulls hovering above our boat becos they are eyeing on the bait! I love the pictures that I took of the seagulls...
Nice shot, eh?
They are heading for the water...

Splash!
Lil' Angel enjoying the sea breeze and munching her biscuits...

More lobsters!

Daddy hard at work...

A picture with the lighthouse...
A funny spikey fish...

A picture with the Captain...
Just the 2 of us...
Lil' Angel looking at the lobsters that were caught...
Lil' Angel: Captain, how much is it for ONE lobster?
Captain: USD5 per lobster!
Lil' Angel: USD5!! That's even cheaper than Chicken! We'll get 5!
Lil' Angel wandering around the boat...
It's a nice day out at the sea...
Lil' Angel loves playing with Daddy...
Smile!
What's Lil' Angel doing?
Ohhhh...
She is...
Blowing kisses at the Captain!
She's still busy exploring the boat...
Last picture on the boat, Caitlyn...
End of the lobster-ing trip! It was fun & educational! Time for lunch!

Ohhh...the lobster is blinking...our order is ready!
Daddy...faster! I am famished!
Yummy! Clam chowder, fish and chips, fish burger, coleslaw, lemonade, Coke...
A delicious lunch with a nice harbour view!

Daddy drinking his Coke by the waterfront...

Enjoying the breeze and view while waiting for Daddy to finish his drink...

Lil' Angel is getting sleepy...
The trolley bus to take tourists around Portland...we didn't take it...
Shopping time!
Cute wind socks...
So bright and cheery...

Guess what they are? Watering Cans! How cute! Oh...I almost broke my camera while taking this shot...thank God it survived!

The whole collection of watering cans...

Stonewall Kitchen...another store selling quality specialty foods...we bought more blueberry jam!

Waiting for Daddy while he topped up the parking meter...

Lil' Angel drinking Vitamin Water...

OOoohh...we spotted a pretty pink and purple trike hanging at the display window...let's check it out!

Lil' Angel trying the sample trike...and she loved it! Actually Mommy loves it more!

We GOT the Trike for Lil 'Angel! Thank you Godma Wendy for contributing the wheels and handle!

The streets and shops at Portland...a nice and relaxing seaport town...

A half car/half motorbike...no it's a spaceship! Ahhh...whatever that is, it's cute n cool! Caitlyn saying "HI" to the Driver...

The Cobblestone path...

Mommy is strong...Mommy can lift the Kayak!

We are back at the Wharf becos we are here to pick up our 5 lobsters! We told the Captain that we will be back after our shopping...

Lil' Angel looking out for Lucky Catch...

Mommy joins in...

Beautiful sunset view...
Lil' Angel running around while waiting for the boat to return...

Walking and playing...

What's that?

It's part of the Berlin Wall!

Oh wow! It's authentic!

Enough running...Mommy is tired!

The boat is back!

Yay! Our lobsters!

Check out Mommy's delighted face!

1, 2, 3, 4...FIVE LOBSTERS! Ohhhh...now we can have steamed lobsters, lobster salad, lobster rolls...*drool*...

Hi Lobsters!

We stopped by WholeFoods to get some ice to keep the lobsters fresh as it would take two hours to get home...

POP Goes the Lil' Angel!

One more time, Daddy!

We finally got out of the car...

Might as well have our dinner here too. "Sounds good", says Lil' Angel!

We ordered her favourite...Udon!

A video of Lil' Angel happily zuut-ing the udon!

Finally heading home after dinner and grocery shopping! What a FUN day!
