Independence Day...

Fourth of July must be an important day indeed...so important that even the weather cooperated! The past week was bad...it was either thunderstorms or super hot weather but strangely enough, the Fourth of July weekend was very pleasant...no rain and the temperature was hovering at 20-ish degrees...COOL!
We walked to the Charles River to join in the fun and to see how the Americans celebrated Independence Day!

The people marking their spots and waiting for the fireworks that will fill the skies tonight!

And many brought along their picnic baskets too...

Storrow Drive was closed to traffic...pedestrians got to own the road...it was quite a long walk to the party area...

We finally arrived...there were lots of people, stalls and booths...it was a BIG PARTY!!

Even the ducks were having a party of their own!

The stage for the performance in the evening...

The food stalls behind Daddy & Lil' Angel...we bought Indian curry & rice, hot dog, fried dough and lemonade...*slurrrrp*...

Lil' Angel waving the American Flag!

Daddy posing with the fried dough & freshly squeezed lemonade...

Lil' Angel & Mommy feeding the ducks...

No more food...

I LOVE AMERICA...oops...i mean i love Singapore...

Lot of advertisement in the sky...

Ahhhh...lemme see the program for tonight's celebration...Fireworks!
The fireworks was spectacular! In Singapore, we have the "Musical Fountain". Over here...they have the "Musical Fireworks"! The Fireworks was choreographed to the live Orchestra and it was awesome! The fireworks lasted for more than an hour and its definitely by far the most spectacular fireworks that I have seen! Too bad we only caught all these on TV cos the fireworks display only started at Lil' Angel's bedtime! But luckily, there were fireworks practically everywhere so we managed to see some from our balcony too, though they are the less spectacular ones...

View from our balcony. This picture doesn't do justice to the fireworks at all...it's so hard to capture good night shots...time to invest in a better camera!

This is worse...the fireworks is so much more spectacular when seen "live"!
